About Iris

Iris Häussler’s latest art projects originate from her fascination with the journeys of migratory birds. From her childhood memories of witnessing the rapid decline of wildlife in the 1970s in rural Germany to her personal experience as a volunteer with FLAP (Fatal Light Awareness Program), she wants to address this urgent problem at its root through her artistic practice.

For her Unlimited Edition Designs with Feather Friendly, Iris draws on her extensive archive of observational drawings and nature photography to create window film designs that are both visually compelling and effective at protecting birds from fatal collisions.

Iris exhibits internationally and collaborates with museums and art institutions. Her artworks are deeply embedded in local historical, social, geographical and environmental contexts.
Visitors often describe her immersive installations as “walking through a three-dimensional novel.” For more information, visit: IRIS HÄUSSLER | Iris Häussler

Flow

Flow

Curling and swirling across the glass, when multiplied on a larger scale, it reminds of synchronized dancers in motion.

Water Trail

Water Trail

Like trails of water slowly flowing down the window, gravity defines these vertical lines.

Trees

Trees

Squinting into the winter sun, bare, trembling branches draw fine, fleeting patterns across the sky.

Winter Grass

Winter Grass

Snowshoeing on an icy February morning, last year’s grasses rise and dance above the whitened land.
