Ann Fu is an artist, former architect, and lifelong wildlife enthusiast based in Western Canada.

Born and raised in Taiwan, Ann’s work is inspired by nature and often features wildlife and habitats through murals, printmaking, calligraphy, and digital illustration. She has collaborated with the Vancouver Mural Festival, Squamish Mural Walk, City Farmer Society, and the City of Richmond.

As a former architect and active birder, Ann brings a unique understanding of design, public art, and bird conservation. She helps promote bird-safe design across the Pacific Northwest by connecting creativity, community engagement, and bird protection.

Jeffrey Ortega is a Bachelor’s degree student in Natural Resources Management at the Universidad Estatal a Distancia (UNED) in Costa Rica. He is currently conducting his final thesis research on bird-window collisions in the city of San José, focusing on understanding the relationship between urban landscapes and this significant threat to birds.

Jeffery is also the founder of Josefina, a citizen science bird-window collision network in Costa Rica since September, 2025. The project aims to help make cities and communities
safer and more bird-friendly. Through public participation, Josefina collects data on bird-window collisions throughout the country to better understand the scale of this issue and
promote actions and solutions to prevent it.

In addition to his academic and conservation work, Jeffrey is a wildlife photographer and a former park ranger. His experience in natural resource management, environmental education, citizen science, wildlife photography, and field conservation has strengthened his commitment to protecting birds and promoting coexistence between people and wildlife

Now based in the Netherlands, Anouk continues this work through Birdbrain Consulting, supporting outreach to planning authorities and other regional stakeholders.

Punita Koustubhan is a conservation biologist dedicated to reducing bird window collisions through science based community conservation. Through Great Salt Lake Audubon, she founded Bird Safe Utah and developed the Residential Bird Window Mitigation Program to help homeowners identify bird collision risks and implement science based solutions using Feather Friendly bird safe window film and other proven mitigation methods, including Acopian BirdSavers.

The program combines residential assessments and window retrofits to reduce bird collisions across residential landscapes. As the program expands beyond Utah, Punita is developing the Bird Safe Windows Network to help Audubon chapters, municipalities, and conservation organizations replicate Bird Safe Utah’s successful community model. The network provides training, implementation strategies, and practical resources that enable local partners to establish sustainable bird collision prevention programs and other methods that build bird safe communities.
