Description:
Each order (not individual roll) includes the following:
- Roll(s) of Feather Friendly® Small-format DIY markers, two paper measuring tapes, one squeegee, one installation instruction sheet, and one bird-safe sticker.
- Each roll contains ¼” markers spaced 2” apart. The roll is 100 ft long and can treat approximately 16 sq ft of glass (e.g., a 4 ft x 4 ft window, patio door or glass panel).
- Contact info@featherfriendly.com if you require additional installation kits or individual packaging for raffles/handouts, etc.
Storage & Pre-install Instructions:
- Store markers out of direct sunlight or in extreme heat and humidity.
- For windows and patio doors, apply markers to the outer surface (the exterior side). The markers will be less effective if not applied to the correct surface.
- For outdoor clear panels, apply markers to the side where more bird strikes occur.
- Do not apply markers when the outside temperature is below 10°C (50°F).
- Install the markers within 1 month of purchase for optimal results.

Reflective Glass
White Markers
Reflective glass creates the illusion of additional habitat a bird thinks it can reach. It must be treated with a high-contrast hue, like our white markers, which stand out against the green and brown shades of the habitat. e.g., house window.
Fly-Through Glass
Black Markers
Transparent or semi-transparent glass is considered fly-through because birds see greenery and/or sky on the other side without realizing that there is a barrier preventing them from reaching it. Bus shelters, clear railings, and walkways between buildings are just some examples of fly-through glass. Fly-through glass must be treated with a high-contrast hue, like our black markers, which stand out against the light shades of the sky and clouds.
Combination Glass
White markers
If you have glass that that has both fly-through and reflective properties, we recommend treating it as reflective glass. Apply white markers on the first (exterior) surface or the side where you're observing the most strikes.
